Traction Alopecia: Type of Hair Loss
Traction Alopecia is a common hair fall condition for African women. It is reversible and can be cured if diagnosed at early stage. In case of advanced stages of hair loss hair follicles get damaged by strain. So many women tend to trim all their hair to see if they can grow up all again.

Some major symptoms of Traction Alopecia are:-
• Taking of pain reliever after getting braids done.
• Scalp gets sore while wearing ponytail.
• Reduction, thinning or hair breakage around one’s hairline.

In case of African women hair loss may occur due to their hairstyle of wearing tight ponytail. Due to tight pulling of hair don’t re-grow leading to appearance of infections, pustules etc at the site of damage.
Traction Alopecia can also occur to men whose hairs are attached with clips that are pulling the hair too tightly. So they must visit their hair stylist to loosen hair clips to prevent hair loss.
In most of the cases hair grows back in about six months or more. But the hair style needs to be changed for healthy and good hair. Traction Alopecia can cause hair loss in any area of the head so in case one tends to take pain reliever after breading must learn that the braids need to be loosened up.
So as we all know early diagnosis is must, one must visit a dermatologist to pin point the main reason behind hair loss.
